The story behind Apples of Gold’s unique American Vintage and Antique-Style Jewelry and Rings Collection is nothing short of remarkable, some may even say Providential. One day, one of our designers, on a mission for used jewelry manufacturing equipment, discovered a large cache of of original jewelry making hubs from the 1700 & 1800s that were about to be thrown away by someone who had no idea what they possessed! These Victorian-era hubs were used in the late 1700s through the early to mid-1800s by jewelry craftsman who utilized the hubs to fashion what was then contemporary jewelry pieces for their customers.
The rings pictured here are exact reproductions from these original hubs, which we now use to create new jewelry. Most “vintage” or “antique-style” jewelry in production today is based on images or concepts from the time, whereas the rings from Apples of Gold are crafted from the actual Victorian and post American-revolutionary era.
That is what makes them so unique and a cherished part of any jewelry collection.
