One of the advantages of owning your own business, I told him, rather than working for a big company, is that you can talk about God freely. Most companies, when it comes down to the bottom line, are there to make money. We are not exempt: that is our goal also. But not at the cost of sacrificing our underlying values and beliefs. We place Scripture on our website, I told him; and even our company name, Apples of Gold, comes from the Bible, from Proverbs 25:11: “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold, in settings of silver”.
