One of God’s first blessings to his world was mothers. This Sunday, we celebrate the women who bore us and raised us and loved us. Each one is unique and special in her own way—there are the stay-at-homes, the businesswomen, the farm moms. They are our guides, our teachers, our role models, our friends, and sometimes, our biggest challenge! No matter your relationship with your mother may be, Mother’s Day is a day to celebrate moms—their love, their hard work, and their calling by God to birth, raise, and nurture their children.

And as we take this day to celebrate the women who bore us, we also celebrate our “spiritual mothers.” These are the women who have nurtured us in the faith and helped us to grow in the Lord. They have been mentors, spiritual guides, prayer partners and confidants.
