Unique and Adorable Sterling Silver Cross Pendants

“And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Matthew 4:19

The ichthus was used by Early Christians as a secret symbol.  The word ichthus in Greek means “fish.”

* Iota (i) is the first letter of Iēsous (Ἰησοῦς), Greek for “Jesus”.
* Chi (ch) is the first letter of Christos (Χριστός), Greek for “anointed”.
* Theta (th) is the first letter of Theou (Θεοῦ), Greek for “God’s”, the genitive case of Θε=ς, Theos, Greek for “God”.
* Upsilon (u) is the first letter of huios (Υἱός), Greek for “Son”.
* Sigma (s) is the first letter of sōtēr (Σωτήρ), Greek for “Savior”.

During their persecution by the Roman Empire in the first few centuries after Jesus Christ, early Christians used the fish symbol to mark meeting places and tombs, or to distinguish friends from foes: when a Christian met a stranger in the road, the Christian sometimes drew one arc of the simple fish outline in the dirt. If the stranger drew the other arc, both believers knew they were in good company.

By God’s grace, today (in America) we can worship God freely, not needing to hide that we are Christians. This .925 sterling silver ichthus pendant still does that same job it did at the beginning: it identifies us as “fishers of men.” It’s part of our collection of Ichthus Jewelry.

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” — John 15:5

How do we abide in Christ? By hearing His voice and obeying His Holy Spirit. At the transfiguration, where Moses (representing the law) and Isaiah (representing the prophets) appeared with Jesus in His glory, “there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.” (Luke 9:35) God the Father was telling the disciples that Jesus’ words were more important than the law and the prophets.

Our lovely, unique .925 sterling silver I Am the Vine cross pendant reminds you every time you put it on that the greatest thing you can accomplish today is to listen to His voice. This delightful cross is shown here in our Silver Cross Pendants.

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” — Matthew 6:9b-10

Jesus’ disciples wanted to know how to pray to the Father, so Jesus taught them to pray the best-known Christian prayer of all time: The Lord’s Prayer. It’s the back of this gleaming crucifix in .925 sterling silver stand apart from the others. Seen head-on, it looks like a traditional crucifix as the Savior hangs on the cross in His passion. The flat, simply styled cross has sleek lines and clean edges. The classic crucifix.

But when you turn this pendant over, you see the Lord’s Prayer engraved in the silver. Keep Christ’s example of how you should pray close to your heart. It is part of our collection of Silver Crucifix Pendants. Come see!

Cross measures 45mm (1 +”) x 28mm (1 1/8″) not including the bail.

“And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!” — Matthew 27:28-29

What the Roman soldiers did in mockery has become a symbol of the great love that caused Jesus to pour out His life in atonement for our sins. He is the suffering servant spoken of in Isaiah 53 Who exchanged His life for our own.

Our gorgeous Crown of Thorns cross necklace identifies you as a believer in the God Who sent His only Son to reconcile you to Himself and it’s a reminder that Jesus Christ is the King of kings and Lord of lords. Add one of our sterling silver box chains to make this a perfect gift for a loved one or a cross you’ll love wearing around your own neck. This one is also available in our collection of Gold Crosses, in either white or yellow gold!

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” —Romans 8:38-29

Celtic jewelry is particularly popular with its beautiful knotted designs. Our Celtic cross pendant with a heart knotted in the middle is a bit simpler than most Celtic designs, but it carries a very powerful message. Traditional Celtic motifs are made of a single line that twists and curves so that there does not seem to be a beginning or end. Applied to a cross, its significant symbolism remind you that you should ever be celebrating your salvation and it stretches beyond death to eternity.

The .925 sterling silver that comprises this elegant cross is formed from a single strand of sterling to create a cross that is light in appearance but rich with meaning. The heart formed by the knot in the middle calls out its message that He is resident in your heart and that He has purchased you; you are His own! Cross measures 30mm (1 3/16″) x 20mm (13/16″) not including bail.
