Love the Lord thy God with All thy Heart 

“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment” (Mark 12:30).

There are two ways to get to heaven. The first is impossible for man: Be a perfect person without sin and fulfill the whole Law of God. But because of our sinful condition, this is not even possible for mankind, for the Bible says that “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

And so the only way to get to heaven, to be saved from the eternal punishment of death and Hell, is to trust in Jesus for your salvation and to receive His substitutionary blood atonement. That is the only way for man to fulfill the commandments of God. It is Christ’s righteousness imputed unto us, that saves us from the penalty of sin.

Only Jesus Christ, God’s perfect Son was able to fulfill the greatest commandment: to love thy God with with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all strength.”

And in Galatians 5:14, Paul said: “For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” Paul was restating Jesus’ words that the second commandment is to love thy neighbor as yourself.

Jesus Himself said: “On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets” (Matthew 22:40).

And so while we should take the Bible’s words seriously to love God and our neighbor as ourself, and strive to do our best to fulfill the great command, it is only Jesus Himself who is able to perfectly fulfill God’s Law and save us from our sins. Put your faith on Him today and call on Him to save you.

The Bible says that all who call upon the name of Jesus will be saved. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13). And those who are saved, will receive everlasting life. “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” (John 5:24).
