Reviewing Your Custom Jewelry Design

The first step is simply describing and showing us what you have in mind through pictures or simple sketches. We can replicate just about any design from pictures that you send us, whether from our website or elsewhere. As long as the design is not copyrighted, we can usually replicate it. A simple sketch will do or you can send us images from any eligible source as the foundation of your piece. A simple sketch will do if pictures are not available. We will take your sketch and clean it up and make it just the way you want.

The Jewelry CAD Process

After we have received your initial images or sketch, we will send you computerized renderings in multiple angles with measurements depicting your custom jewelry piece. The CAD process takes approx. 4-5 business days to create. If you like what you see, simply approve the CAD renderings, and we will cast your new design into your precious metal of choice, including sterling silver 14K, 18K, 22K Gold or Platinum. You can request a quote in all the metals of your choice before deciding whether to have your custom piece made. What the CAD helps us to is to determine how much gold or precious metal will be required to cast your piece and provide you with an accurate quote. You are not obligated to continue beyond the CAD process if you do not approve of either the design or the quote. At Apples of Gold, over 99% of our customers who have created a CAD design have proceeded with making their custom piece.

The Jewelry Casting Process

How long does it take to cast your Custom Jewelry? The process is fairly quick. Once you have approved your CAD design, we will then move onto casting your jewelry. Casting, assembly (if needed) and polishing takes approximately 2-3 weeks on average. So from the time that you approve your CAD you should have your new jewelry within just a few weeks, depending on the shipping method you choose.

So how long does custom jewelry take for us to create? Between the CAD process (4-5 days) and casting (2-3 weeks), we typically fashion our custom jewelry design within 3-4 weeks. This is relatively quick! But it is dependent upon how quickly you approve the CAD design or if you require various revisions along the way.
