Why Yellow Gold Jewelry Will Never Go Out of Style

Yellow gold jewelry is the original bling. It is the real thing. Not don’t get us wrong, we love our white gold jewelry also, but the only real gold is yellow gold, because it is in its natural state. You don’t have to add alternative metals to take something that is in its natural color to try to change it into something else. That’s the case with white gold – it’s actually yellow! But by adding nickel or other alloys to it, you can make it look white. But it still won’t look completely white, until you rhodium plate it (yet another precious metal) to turn it absolutely white. That’s often the case with engagement rings or diamond rings, for example. But not so with Yellow Gold Engagement Rings which are in their more natural state!

That’s not the case with yellow gold. Gold is actually somewhat dark. 24K Gold is the darkest, in its pure form and is too soft to turn into jewelry. So other alloys are mixed to make the metal strong enough to mold into shape and create those beautiful jewelry rings, earrings, pendants, and bracelets that you adore! But it is yellow. You don’t have to do anything to do it to try to make it look like gold. It is gold.

In fact, the precious metal has been around for thousands of years and will be around for thousands more. It has been employed in jewelry for as long as gold wedding bands have been around and longer! There are references to real gold even in the Bible. Genesis 2:11-12: “The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.” In fact, the word, “gold” is mentioned 419 times in the King James Bible! And, yes, the Bible says that it “is good”.

So whether there’s a white gold or platinum or titanium trend for a while, real gold – yellow gold – will not be going away any time soon. Don’t get us wrong, we believe these metals will be around forever too. But they won’t ever completely overshadow the original precious metal used in jewelry for ages past.

In terms of fashion and style, gold jewelry stands out among its peers because of its rich, alluring color. There is no mistaking what you are wearing; it won’t be confused with silver or some other precious metal. It is what it is, and it is “good”.

So check out some of our designer pieces which show off the precious metal at a price that is affordable. Shown from left to right: a three-stone emerald gemstone ring in 14k, a 14k gold plain bangle bracelet, an antique-made paisley floral wedding band ring in 14k (what makes this ring absolutely amazing is that it is made from an original 1700-1800s mold recovered from the era!)
