The 5 Carat Emerald-Cut Peridot
and Baguette Diamond Ring in 14K White Gold is a flash from the past. Its
polished gold band, diamonds, and remarkable green gemstone bring forth memories
from a time gone by when color and form ruled.
The bold geometric shape and rich
hues found in the emerald-cut peridot stone (9mm by 11mm) is a classic example
of an Art Deco-inspired piece of the 1930s. The three steps cut into the stone
on all four sides allow for a rainbow of color to reflect the many surfaces of
the peridot. As well, the baguette-cut diamonds (each 0.15 carats) on either
side of the center stone create a beautiful detail on the band and add to the
flare of the ring. The band measures 2mm in width and is cast from 14k white
gold, along with the four rectangular gold arms in the setting.
This ring is a fine example of
the meeting of the minds between modern and traditional design an inspirational
piece of jewelry born from the blueprint of a past century.
