A Cross Between Amethyst And Peridot

We’re rolling out our new summer pieces and nothing says summer like the subtle, sparkling violet of the amethyst stone and the golden green of the peridot. These fresh, gentle, nature-inspired colors can’t help but remind us of the lush trees, brightly colored flowers, and long sunny days of summer.

But these gemstones, set in a cross of sterling silver, are more than just attractive adornments to complement the summer wardrobe. They are Biblical symbols as well. Both are featured in Revelation 21 in a description of the walls that will adorn the heavenly city:

The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every kind of jewel. The first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst.

These stones—amethyst and chrysolite (another name for peridot)—are not only stunning to our eyes, but they are beautiful to God’s as well. We see God’s attention to aesthetics, beauty, and precision throughout all of creation.

The Amethyst and Peridot Cross Pendant in Sterling Silver displays ten round peridot stones and five amethysts—one round and four marquise-cut. Stones are set in a sterling silver cross measuring 2 3/8’’ (including bale). This delicate, feminine cross is an ideal gift for a graduate or summer birthday.
