A Cut Above: What is a GIA-Graded Diamond?

Apples of Gold is proud to present a select line of highest-quality GIA-certified diamond engagement rings, such as the GIA-graded ½ Carat Diamond Solitaire in 14k Rose Gold shown here. But what is a GIA-graded diamond? And what difference does it make?

The Gemological Institute of America is an unbiased third party that comprises the gold standard on gemstone quality and technology. They are the experts in grading and assessing the quality of diamonds and other colored gemstones.

Buying a GIA certified diamond means that your diamond has anonymously passed through the hands of the GIA for their inspection and meticulous examination. When measuring the quality of the diamond, the GIA grades for clarity, color, and diamond cut. Upon completion of the inspection, the diamond receives a certificate signifying its size (carat weight) and official quality gradations.

While all Apples of Gold diamonds are of superb quality and integrity, with accurate diamond stats listed for each product in the collection, a GIA certification is that extra third-party validation of superior quality.
